Job Description :
Established New York City hotel group is looking for a seasoned, dynamic, detail oriented leader for one of our landmark Manhattan properties. General Manager candidates with 5+ years’ experience including sales, specializing in luxury markets will be considered.
The General Manager provides strong leadership and strategic planning in all departments, maximizing efficiency of operations and upholding exacting standards of hospitality, service, and guest satisfaction.
Job Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
-Oversee operational functions, ensuring full adherence to hotel operating controls, SOPs, policies, and service standards
-Hold daily briefings and weekly meetings with department heads and executives
-Lead all key property issues, including customer service initiatives and enhancements
-Oversee any service recovery procedures as well as personal resolution of isolated incidents
-Prepare and present the hotel’s annual Operating Budget, Sales and Marketing Plan
-Develop hotel budget goals and set other short and long term strategic goals for the property
-Manage on-going profitability of the hotel by maintaining margins and efficiencies while ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are attained
-Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotel, management, and ownership
-Develop actionable guest enhancement plans
-Strong interpretation of P&L statements and the ability to proactively respond with impactful strategies; closely monitor the hotel’s business reports on a daily basis and make decisions accordingly
-Ensure monthly financial outlooks for rooms, A&G, S&M, and R&M are accurate
-Maximize room yield and hotel revenue through innovative revenue and sales practices, and yield management programs
-Assist in the direction and procurement of operating supplies and equipment and contract with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services
-Act as final decision maker in hiring of key personnel
-Respond to audits to ensure continual compliance is achieved
-Interface with corporate clients along with Sales Department
-Ensure all legal requirements are met including fire, heath, and safety regulations
Qualifications and Experience
· Experience at the position in independent, luxury and successful hotels
· Exemplary written and verbal communication skills required
· Caring management skills with extensive hands-on experience.
· Available to work as needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights
· University degree in hotel management or a related field preferred
· Computer proficiency including knowledge of Opera
· 3 years of experience as a General Manager or 5 years as a Hotel Manager/AGM.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
10 hour shift
Day shift
Evening shift
Monday to Friday
Weekend availability
NYC Hotel General Manager: 3 years (Preferred)
