Division: Seattle Field Office
Location: Seattle, WA
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Hours may vary depending on the needs of the office.
Salary:
GS 9 – $60,416.00 – $78,542.00
GS 11 – $73,098.00 – $95,022.00
Full Performance level: GS 11

Key Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance
Driver’s License: Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license for the state of residence as well as obtain a government license for the operation of government vehicles if selected for the position.
Physical Demands:
Work may involve climbing, carrying of heavy equipment, stooping, crouching, crawling, and kneeling as required to achieve the desired picture.
Must work effectively under extreme conditions such as hot and cold temperatures, confined areas, and high places.
Work may often be under conditions which are potentially dangerous.
Working Conditions:
Must be willing and able to process violent crime scenes to include bodies, blood, autopsies and disturbing/sensitive/graphic material for extended periods of time.
Must be able to multi-task and manage pressure in stressful situations.
Must be willing to work odd-hour shifts and holidays
Demonstrate proficiency in Photoshop (Adobe Creative Cloud Software) and with DSLR camera operations such as shooting in manual, lens selection, flash,video capture etc.
Knowledge/aptitude of computer systems, adding programs/printers, troubleshooting problems.
Knowledge of video editing, enhancing, and dealing with open source and proprietary formats.
Knowledge of Adobe Premiere or video editing/enhancement software.
Must become a member and train for participation in the FBI’s Field Audio/Video Program (FAVP) and Digital Imaging Video Retrieval Team (DIVRT)
Must work independently and keep up with knowledge/education and changes/enhancements to the Photography, FAVP, and DIVRT Programs.
This position is designated as “emergency.” As an “emergency” employee, you may be expected to report to work during periods of adverse weather conditions or other types of emergency situations when it is announced that an “unscheduled leave policy” is in effect or that federal agencies are closed in your immediate vicinity.
Major Duties:
Performs a complex range of criminal and investigative photography involving the most complex surveillance, crime scene, and aerial assignments
Installs, modifies, and adapts photographic equipment techniques and processes with regard to new and unprecedented situations
Operates highly specialized and sophisticated camera equipment, some specifically developed and/or adapted for criminal and investigative photography
Captures and processes all types of images relating to criminal, investigative, and public relations matters
Performs complex surveillance photography wherein sophisticated equipment such as concealment and light amplification devices are used
Performs crime scene and aerial photography in a variety of environmental conditions requiring calculation of proper exposure and focus
Conducts on site photographic surveys to determine the equipment necessary to complete the assignment and achieve desired results

Specialized Experience (SE):
GS 09: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 8 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
Performed a variety of camera work to complete photography assignments
Used a variety of photography equipment
Maintained photography inventory
Provided technical advice regarding photography
Wrote communications to document items photographed
GS 11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 10 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
Performed photography work for law enforcement, involving complex assignments in a variety of situations
Performed photography work in an intelligence field using highly specialized cameras, which may have been adapted specifically for investigative or criminal photography
Performed crime scene and aerial photographic assignments
Education
Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at these grade levels.
