Job summary
Amazon is looking for an Economist – Marketing Science to uncover insights around Marketing and its effects on customer behavior on Prime Video.

Prime Video is shaping the future of video entertainment, by offering customers a wide and eclectic catalog, including an ever-increasing slate of Amazon Originals. Our mission is to build the widest selection of digital video content and make it trivially easy for customers to enjoy great content wherever and whenever they want.

To help fulfill this mission, the Marketing Science and Analytics team aims to drive decision-making on marketing efforts by delivering sophisticated models and frameworks. As an Economist on the team, you will work closely with our business and finance stakeholders, as well as the other members of our team, to shape and deliver a roadmap of economic models and experimentation for the team.

Key job responsibilities

Build economic models to quantify the causal impact of marketing actions – both Above-the-line (ATL) and Below-the-line (BTL) – on customer viewership and acquisition.
Define and execute an extensive experimental roadmap to test our hypotheses and validate the outputs of our models
Create models that allow an optimization of our marketing budget across titles and territories.
Collaborate with other Scientists and Economists on our team to enhance our existing suite of models and get smarter about marketing decision-making.

· Strong background in statistics methodology, applications to business problems, and/or big data · Strong experience in causal inference and experimentation · Extensive research track record · Experience working with very large real-world data sets and building scalable models from big data · Expertise in SQL and a programmatic scripting language for analysis (e.g. Python/R) Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
