Job Description :
The Color and Material Finish (CMF) Designer position is responsible for accurately creating prototypes in order to fulfill customer requirements. This includes developing and refining customer-submitted artwork in preparation for prototyping. This position will interface with customers, consultants, Sales, Customer Service, and Aesthetics Prototyping Lab personnel to translate and communicate design aesthetics.


Demonstrates Schneller values and shares the organizational commitment to ensuring quality products and processes.
Develops clear and concise CMF specifications in collaboration with Design Manager and Internal Design Team for the benefit of all key stakeholders across the organization.
Employs strong conceptual skills and persuasive articulation of creative ideas that support the aesthetic direction of various client projects.
Provides fresh, leading, relevant, and feasible CMF design solutions that reflect market needs.
Interprets and incorporates abstract concepts and translates to designs based on visual and verbal information provided.
Maintains key customer relationships, networks, and trend resources.
Provides CMF support to all manufacturing and supplier sites as needed.
Proficient in creating seamless repeats of digital patterns.
Manages CMF from concept to commercialization.
Provides project administrative support to include precise and accurate record keeping and reviews project PDT’s for design accuracy.
Assists in managing client expectations & communications, and proactively follows up in order to expedite program work for color match requests.
Applies knowledge of Schneller printing processes and texture offering in design development. Preferred knowledge in flat-bed, continuous, and digital print processes.
Synthesizes multiple and/or conflicting requirements and problem solves to create outstanding design solutions that expand Schneller capabilities.
Works independently and/or as an active member of a multi-disciplinary project team which may include dedication to a single large project or to multiple smaller projects simultaneously.
Stays abreast of the latest aesthetic trends and how trends can contribute to Schneller capability and library of designs.


3-5 year’s relevant design experience, ideally in one or more of the following field, Color & Trim, and Graphic Design, Textile Design
Experience working with global brands and clients across different categories
Trends analysis and story boarding
Surface pattern making


BA/BS in Design or related discipline, Associate Degree may be considered with 5 years of pertinent experience
Exceptional communicator (verbal, written, and visual)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator
Strong skillset in techniques for manipulation of digital files
Proven trends and materials development skills, primarily in the manufacturing industry
Proficiency in MSOffice with emphasis on Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint
Ability to clearly communicate design intent, inspire creative solutions, and negotiate key metrics
Ability to fluently speak and understand English. Schneller Asia employees must also fluently speak and understand Mandarin and Chinese. Schneller SARL employees must also fluently speak French. Other language requirements may apply based on circumstances and will be added, if applicable.
To conform with US export regulations and ITAR 120.15 and EAR Part 772, incumbents for this role must be eligible for any required authorizations from the US government.

Must be able to perform the following physical demands with or without accommodation:

Position may require person to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours, constantly performing repetitive motions to use a personal computer and other office equipment, as well as walking around an office and industrial environment.

Ability to perform physical activities related to traveling, such as driving, moving throughout airports, flying – international travel approximately 15-25%
Position requires annual eye examination with written documentation of adequate vision to detect minute flaws in material with or without corrective lenses, including successful completion of Farnsworth Munsell Color Vision Testing (Superior Discrimination on Munsell 100 Hue Test)
