Job Description :
Newport Labs is currently seeking full-time clinical laboratory techs for immediate hire.
Duties and responsibilities:
o Evaluate specimens received by the department and organize workflow to provide optimum efficiency of testing and turnaround time of results
o Perform PCR methods for analysis
o Evaluate results to determine interference, inhibition, or other problems that arise during amplification or processing of samples
o Perform quality control, validation, and other quality activities to verify performance of clinical assays
o Maintain equipment by performing assigned maintenance activities and troubleshoot unexpected problems with equipment
o Record data to monitor temperatures of incubation equipment
o Evaluate inventory of supplies and reagents and communicate order needs
o Operate equipment and computer programs related to LIS system
o Maintain records of test results and archives of data
o Maintain a neat and clean work environment
o Perform proficiency testing to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies
o Assist department in writing and maintaining standard operating procedures for clinical assays
o Document knowledge by reviewing and signing SOPs annually
o Follow laboratory policies and procedures such as attendance and time reporting policies
Education and Experience:
o BS degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory (Required)
o At least 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory (Required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
