InterMedia Advertising® is full-service advertising agency across all media channels both digitally and traditional with in-house teams for all services including production and editorial services, headquartered in Woodland Hills, CA, with offices on the East Coast and in the Midwest.
OBJECTIVE:
The Payroll Manager will oversee the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on a Semi Monthly (Staff Employees) and (Freelance Employees) payroll schedule accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure corporate and production payroll is processed in an accurate and timely manner using full cycle payroll software (currently using ADP Workforce Now and ADP Time and Attendance).
Processing/Validating all Payroll Tax-related transactions including but not limited to; new hire tax set-up, termination payments, taxability of benefit deductions, Federal/State/Local tax withholdings, Supplemental Income taxation, and garnishments.
Resolve employee incidents related to payroll processing
Experience with making modifications to ADP workforce – adding new types of wages, additional employee titles, entering 401k loans, new types of garnishments, new types of non taxible reimbursements, setting up time off accruals, etc.
Partner with HR , Benefits Consultants, and Finance to create seamless end to end processes.
Assist with any relevant audits and reviews, including those around worker’s compensation, section 125, and the 401k plan.
Drive solutions for any discrepancies by partnering with the ADP Payroll Service Provider and ADP Technical Support.
Maintain current knowledge of company policies and procedures to identify any issues that may occur regarding payroll.
Experience with EDD benefit audits.
Experience with general accounting – uploading payroll entries, entering 401k uploand into GL, entering intercompany transactions relating to payroll, 401k match, and profit sharing, entering payables invoices as necessary, handling employee reimbursements, doing PTO accrual entry monthly, and assisting accounting/finance department with general accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of payroll experience in both corporate and production payroll environments.
Must have the ability to keep information confidential. Must be able to work evenings for training and then 2 evenings a month to process payroll.
Prior payroll experience with knowledge of multi state and federal wage and hour laws.
Experience with general business growth and high turnover.
Experience with becoming payroll compliant in additional states not currently in.
HRIS/Payroll systems : ADPWorkForce Now and ADP Time and Attendance.
Experience in migrating to a new payroll provider.
Proficient in Excel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and vendors.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities with deadlines, without sacrificing quality.
ADDITION REQUIREMENTS
Media Experience preferred but not required.
College degree not required.
Prefers to wear many hats.
High-level written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work full-time in a private office or shared office space
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
