Job Description :
Position available-
Friday through Tuesday
This is a specialized and technical position under the direction of the Operations and Office Manager at a busy Mortuary Service. The pace is constant with minimal downtime. The Intake Specialist is responsible for providing secretarial, clerical, and administrative support as well as physical work of assisting the intake of deceased persons into our care. This position provides assistance to our funeral home partners, help answer phones, and assist with various duties involving deceased persons.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Knowledge and complete understanding of all safety programs and regulations mandated by law or company policy and enforce those standards.
Must insure that staff safety rules and policies are complied with.
Must communicate openly, honestly with all staff and management.
Knowledge and complete understanding of all policies procedures and regulations mandated by law or company policy and enforce those standards.
Respond to all inquiries from Clients and First Call Plus staff.
Insures that all service inquiries from other staff and clients are addressed in accordance with Policies and Procedure, in a timely and efficient manner.
Provide customer service; communicate with customers and staff using appropriate levels of technical skills and terminology; perform daily operations and procedures as required.
Employees occupying the position will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested by their manager.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Supervision received from Office and Operations Manager
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and seeing.
Occasional Demands: Repetitive hand motion, climbing stairs, bending at the waist; reaching kneeling (below the knees, knees to shoulder and above the shoulder); filing and lifting/moving file boxes; fine finger manipulation with use of a keyboard.
Environmental Factors: Moderate noise levels.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of office practices and computer equipment.
Knowledge of the operation of personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheet software and computerized permit tracking system.
Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette and methods of dealing effectively with the public and First Call Plus staff members.
Ability to interpret, understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Ability to work in a multi-task situation. Work with the demands of more than one customer or job at a time.
EDUCATION:
Preferred: High school diploma or GED. Continued professional development expected.
COMPENSATION:
Hourly wage range: $18.00
