Job Description Overview:
The role of the Assistant Service/Project Manager is to plan, execute and finalize projects according to the strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors, or consultants, in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Assistant Service Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Project/Practice Management:
Creates and executes project work plans and revises to meet changing requirements
Identifies resources as needed and assigns individual responsibilities
Manages day-to-day operational aspects of project and scope of work
Safety management of all resources and job sites
Manage and maintain emergency preparedness program and service response
Manage shop resources including tools, equipment vehicles and staff
Plan and schedule project timelines using appropriate tools
Develop and deliver progress reports, required documentation and presentations
Draft and submit budget proposal and recommend budget changes when necessary
Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client
Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards
Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
Minimizes our exposure and risk on a project
Ensures Project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
Project close-outs including all documentation and analysis as necessary
Project Accounting:
Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis
Manages project budgets, cost control and forecasting
Determines revenue recognition and insures timely and accurate invoicing
Business Development:
Identifies business development and “add-on” sales opportunities related to projects
Leads proposal efforts including completing project scoping and LOE assessments
Effectively conveys are message in both written and verbal business development
Communication:
Facilitate team and client meetings effectively
Hold regular status meetings with project team
Keeps project team well informed of changes with the organization
Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors
Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations
Resolves and/or escalates issues in a TIMELY fashion (very important)
Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
Technical Understanding:
Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming
Understands internet, intranet, extranet, and client/server architectures
Possesses a thorough understanding of our capabilities
Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and potential applications
Assist in analyzing, purchasing, and utilizing new technologies and software
Leadership:
Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor
Manages the development of team in regard to individuals’ interests and specialties
Inspires coworkers to attain goals and pursue excellence
Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
Manages the process of innovative change effectively
Remains on the forefront of emerging industry practices
Teamwork:
Consistently acknowledges and appreciates each team member’s contributions

Position Requirements:
University degree or college diploma in the field of Project Management
Five years direct work experience in a project management capacity
Strong familiarity with project management software such as Timberline
Budgeting and estimating experience and skills developing written work scopes
Technically competent with various software such as Microsoft Office and Project
Demonstrated experience (and has good record) in personnel management
Demonstrated ability and competent writer of business letters, quotes, and proposals
Experienced in working independently and in a team-oriented environment
Can conform shifting priorities, demands and timelines through problem solving
Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
Flexible through times of change
Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity
Strong written and oral communication skills
Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under a high-pressure environment
Able to add any and all duties to their job description as needed and when needed
Work Conditions:
Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines or handle emergency services
Physical ability to participate in training sessions, presentations, or meetings
Some travel may be required for the purpose of meetings with clients or checking jobs
Dexterity to handle office functions including keyboards, mouse, and buttons
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
