Job Description :
Hours: 7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday must be available to work overtime
Pay: $25/hour
As the Quality Lab Tech, your time will be spent supporting the Quality Manager and the Operations Team. You will be responsible for accurate performance and communication of laboratory tests to determine quality and verify finished product meets customer specification. You will also actively participate in Food Safety audits and inspections, follow up and implementation of corrective action, and work cross functionally. You will be expected to fulfill front office duties as a representative of Ardent Mills.

Key responsibilities:
Maintain food safety understanding by participating in all site-wide food safety training. Responsible to elevate food safety concerns to the appropriate level; authorized to stop production or shipments due to food safety risks.
Perform chickpea quality analysis in all areas within required parameters of certification program and customer specifications.
Record keeping and review of all food safety and quality tests.
Calibrate and maintain accuracy of equipment.
Assist Associates/Quality Manager with projects or peer training as needed.
Assist with food safety inspections and audits.
Acting as a front-line leader, positively influence operator behavior on reporting quality and food safety concerns.
Interact daily with your manager, management team, and other operators.
Assisting with shipping loads by scaling trucks
Ensure all shipments are posted and accurate and all required paperwork is verified
Oversee sorting and distribution of mail plus prepare outgoing mail/packages
Maintain inventory stock of office supplies and order as needed
Provide office support in answering phones, receiving/directing vendors/visitors, and paperwork/access cards to contractors
Provide administrative support to the Administrative Manager & Inventory Coordinator
Any other duties as assigned by management.
Essential skills and experience:
High school degree or equivalent.
Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and strong organizational skills.
Demonstrate accountability, effective communication (both English written and verbal) skills, and ability to work well with team members.
Proficient use of computer programs including the Microsoft Word and Excel.
Demonstrated analytical skills to recognize, assess problems, and make decisions.
Good to have skills and experience:
Knowledge of food safety requirements.
Food production or manufacturing experience or some science-related college education.
Associates Degree with 2+ years of office administration experience
Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Ability to perform duties including reaching, standing, walking, and lifting in environments that are hot/cold, elevated, dusty, noisy, and/or places of vibration.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e. safety glasses, protective footwear, hard hat, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)
Ability to perform lifting of medium exertion – exerting up to 20-50 lbs of force occasionally and/or 10-25lbs of force frequently.
Other considerations:
Must be able to work occasional irregular hours, off-shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Responsible for understanding and following all personnel and equipment safety policies, Sanitation policies, and following all company policies and procedures.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
