A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A FIELD SURVEYOR
As a Field Surveyor, you collect topographic land data. You will travel daily to project sites and occasionally beyond state boundaries. You safely and accurately record data points using data collector applications and various survey equipment. You will use company provided tablets to collect information on telecommunications equipment.
The key roles include the following:

Field Topographic Survey
Staking
Data Collection

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in GIS, mapping, land surveying, remote sensing, or related fields
Experience with GPS and/or robotic total station surveying equipment
Valid Driver’s License with clean MVR
Basic computer knowledge and skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

EXPECTATIONS

Coordinate daily with Project Managers, CAD Technicians, and Mapping Specialists
Interact/coordinate with internal/external clients
Review plans, specifications and other documents
Ensure projects are delivered accurately
Communicate with Project Manager to ensure direction and understanding of projects
Coordinate work directly with clients
Complete daily timesheet for all work
Follow guidelines and maintain data integrity

Be able to pass a pre-employment background check
Be willing to work outside, walk for extended periods of time, and lift heavy items up to 70 lbs.
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Pay attention to detail; be reliable, accountable, and self-motivated
Must be able to work outside, in diverse weather situations
