Job Description :
General Description.
Responsible for monitoring Family Child Care homes and Group homes for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
Summary Of Essential Job Functions:
Carry a caseload of 30-50 family child care providers for CACFP.
Maintain the Minute Menu System and provider file with current family child care provider information.
Compile monthly visit report on a number of monitoring visits conducted for CACFP family child care providers.
Monitor homes participating in the CACFP 3 times a year (two visits to be unannounced).
Observe a meal during two out of the three visits – including evenings and weekend meals.
Maintain knowledge of current federal, state, and local regulations affecting CACFP family child care providers.
Arrange and assist with annual Fire and Health Inspections for A.A. providers.
Maintain & Audit provider files monthly.
Date stamp, track and assist in processing menus.
Process provider error letters.
Provide technical assistance to providers including with Web-based menus.
Assist in conducting CACFP workshops.
Recruit family child care homes and group daycare homes to participate in the CACFP.
Promote public relations concerning family child care and the CACFP.
Conduct initial training of new providers including Web-based menus, as needed.
Assist with pre-approval visits in a timely manner, complete required forms accurately and submit to Program Director in a timely fashion, as needed.
Be available to do evening/weekend visits.
Assist in conducting CACFP workshops and Annual Renewal Training.
Attend staff development training.
Submit monthly visit reports to Program Director and enter them into Minute Menu software in a timely manner.
Maintain knowledge of current federal, state, and local regulations affecting the CACFP especially new Alternate Approved Home Guidelines.
Participate in CQI activities.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Early Childhood, Administration, or related field, preferred.
A minimum of 6 months of experience with compliance in a regulatory program.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) language and writing skills required.
Must be a sensitive person who can relate to childcare providers and their needs.
Knowledge of community and existing community prevention efforts.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural differences.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Experience in working in home visitation preferred.
Travel to offices in other communities required for supervision and monitoring program.
Must have adequate computer skills.
Good telephone technique.
Adheres to agency policies & procedures.
Meets department performance/productivity standards.
Must be certified in CPR/First Aid.
Location: must be able to provide direct service to the designated client base in the Santa Cruz area.
Maintain a functional and safe home working space with adequate internet connection for the job.
Comply with all agency and program policies and procedures including confidentiality, employee conduct, computer usage, and dress code.
Meet program/department’s performance and productivity standards.
Attend required agency and program/department meetings.
Adhere to the schedule agreed upon with the supervisor.
Follow and model CFR’s core values.
Participate in PQI initiatives.
Must be eligible and able to obtain a Level one fingerprint card.
Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license, and vehicle and meet agency liability insurance requirements.

Ability Requirements:
Sitting for extended periods of time daily; standing and walking short distances.
Moderate twisting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds in the performance of assigned duties.
Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machines as referenced.
Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination required.
Repeated hand-wrist movement required.
The nature of the position involves a fast-paced working environment with multitasking of many different duties and tasks.
General daily priorities may change at a moment’s notice and the position requires quick response time and flexibility.
