Summary of Responsibilities
The accounting career development specialist is responsible for designing, developing and facilitating the training and education of all accounting associates assigned in a multi-state geographical area in a variety of mediums. This position is also accountable for working collaboratively with accounting leadership team to assess the training and educational needs of the accounting staff.

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives

Consult with accounting leadership to conduct needs assessments to identify training needs and performance gaps.
Develop, edit and/or maintain training material content in partnership with appropriate stakeholders; such as handouts, communications, learning activities, question and answer sheets and other reference tools to strengthen existing skill sets with the team.
Responsible for ensuring that materials and documentation are technically accurate and are in line with the companies style and standards.
Accountable for ensuring that training programs are updated and aligned with current policies, processes and industry regulations.
Assist with the development of computer-based training (CBT), web based training (WBT) modules and/or PowerPoint presentations that are designed to facilitate associate learning experiences.
Ensure timely project completions through the utilization of project management skills.
Responsible for facilitating web-based as well as in-person training modules.
Communicate with key stakeholders effectively and regularly regarding training metrics and performance.
Monitor developments in training methodologies, industry trends and bring awareness of such information to department leadership
Handle all logistical arrangements for room set up, managing rosters, reporting on completion and measuring results.

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree is required.
Three to five years of experience in property accounting is required.
Three to five years of training and content development experience is preferred.
Three to five years of experience in Yardi is required.
Extensive project management experience is required. PMP certification is a preferred.

Skills and Requirements

A passion for instructing and the ability to command an audience.
Knowledge of adult learning principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of learning management systems preferred.
Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced level knowledge with MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Outstanding presentation skills to all internal and external stakeholder.
Positive demeanor, voracious appetite to learn new things and excellent professional judgement.
Required to pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.


Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working overtime, weekends and non-traditional holidays.
Ability to travel (10-20%)


Exposure to environment typically found in an office building.
