Job Description :
Job Summary: Represents the spa to guests throughout all stages of their stay. Assists guests with all aspects of their time in the spa, which includes the front desk reception, retail, locker room areas and treatment rooms. Confirms and schedules services, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Checks guests in and out for their appointments and helps guests complete the consultation form/waiver. Verifies method of payment and follows established credit-checking procedures. Assists guests with retail questions and sales. Provides excellent service through knowledge of services and retail.
*Front Desk Associate Duties and Responsibilities: *
Provides excellent customer service to all guests, welcoming and orienting them to the spa.
Takes spa reservations using proper verbiage, ensuring to adhere to FORBES standards.
Accurately inputs guest information and spa booking details into spa software.
Understands spa services along with treatment room and therapist capabilities in order to maximize revenue and opportunities for guest bookings.
Must be sales-minded, presenting options and alternatives to guests and offering assistance in making choices.
Uses suggestive selling techniques to appropriately sell services and retail.
Performs cashier related functions like posting charges to guest accounts, opening and closing register, etc.
Uses proper telephone etiquette.
Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area, guest waiting room and retail space.
Ensures front-of-house areas are stocked appropriately with retail items and guest amenities.
Assists with locker room duties as needed.
Attends department meetings.
Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager.
Knows all safety and emergency procedures; is aware of accident prevention policies.
Understands that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts.
*Qualifications, Skills & Abilities: *Listed below are the qualifications that represent the knowledge, skills, and/or ability to perform this job successfully:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a customer service role required
Previous experience working in an upscale hotel/spa preferred
Excellent telephone etiquette and verbal and written communication skills required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook required
Must provide prompt and cordial service to all guests and employees
Working knowledge of, or the ability to learn computer systems (Micros point-of-sale, Opera, Meevo)
Must be reliable, responsible and able to work well under pressure
Apply critical thinking to solve problems in standardized situations
Must meet legal age requirements for the position
