Job Description :
Job Summary:
The general responsibilities of the Warehouse Person, under minimal supervision, are to maintain ENSTAR’s facilities, inventory, and logistics.
Essential Functions:

Provide material handling services; load, unload, move, stack, receive, deliver, label, ship, and store materials.
Perform a variety of building maintenance tasks both indoors and outdoors, such as general repairs, painting, moving equipment/furniture, replacing light bulbs, hanging pictures, replacing fire extinguishers, snow removal, raking, sweeping, etc.
Conduct product inventories.
Coordinate logistics activities: receive/pick up freight, verify purchases against purchase order number, and log as well as ship materials.
Maintain warehouse equipment such as forklifts, vehicles, etc.
Operate vehicles requiring a Commercial Driver’s License.
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Handle hazardous materials in accordance with federal, state, and municipal laws.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
One year building maintenance or warehouse experience, preferably in the utility industry.
Logistics experience preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to type 50+ words per minute.
Hazardous Materials Certification.

Valid Alaska Commercial Driver’s License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the ENSTAR’s Driving Policy.

Ability to pass a drug, background, past employment and driving record screening.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact and communicate with individuals within and outside of ENSTAR.
Knowledge of commercial facility maintenance processes and procedures and ability to perform related tasks.
Good organization skills specifically with regard to maintaining purchase, warranty, and maintenance records.
Ability to work safely.
Ability to be customer focused.
Must be self-directed, able to perform in a multi task environment, and able to effectively contribute individually, or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Thorough knowledge of ENSTAR’s Standard Operating Procedures and construction practices, facilities, and ability to safely operate the equipment utilized in position.
Ability to use general office equipment such as computer, fax, phone, copier, etc.
Strong customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service, follow-up, value added service, one-call resolution, and customer appreciation.
Ability to convey information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
Active listening skills; attentiveness when listening to others to understand, ask appropriate questions, etc.
Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) quickly and correctly.

Other Requirements:

Must maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with co-workers, customers and management.
Must maintain a safe environment for co-workers, customers and the public through adherence to established safety standards and timely reporting of potential hazards.
Must adhere to ENSTAR’s policies and procedures related to the code of business ethics, compliance, responsible use of assets, and all applicable state and federal laws.

Physical Effort: Sitting, standing, walking, bending over, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing and/or pulling, talking, repetitive use of hands and arms, repetitive use of legs, grasping, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying up to 50 pounds, eye/hand coordination, and fine manipulation.
Visual Acuity: Close vision (clear at 20″ or less), distance vision (clear at 20′ or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
Mental Effort: Thinking analytically, using effective verbal and written communication, handling stress and emotions, concentrating on tasks, discriminating colors, remembering details, making decisions, adjusting to changes, and examining and observing details.
Environmental Factors: Working inside in hot and cold conditions, working outside in hot/humid and cold temperatures, working around hazards (biological, chemical, sharp objects and tools, and heavy machinery), working in unprotected spaces (high places and heights, constricted spaces), working around fumes (gases, odors, and dust), working in dirty conditions (grease, oil, and mud), working around moving mechanical parts, working around devices with hot temperatures, working around vibrations, working on wet and slippery floors and surfaces, working with others, and working alone.
