Project Manager 1

Overview:
Olgoonik Construction Services (OCS) is an Alaskan Native Owned General Contractor based in Anchorage, Alaska. OCS preforms commercial and industrial projects primarily on Alaska’s North Slope. Our projects vary between civil, horizontal, and vertical construction. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the estimating, planning and implementation of multiple projects.

Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements.

Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.

Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.

Define project tasks and resource requirements.

Manage project budgets.

Manage project resource allocations.

Plan and schedule project timelines.

Track project deliverables

Provide direction and support to the projects.

Quality assurance.

Development, implementation and monitoring of project safety plans.

Monitor and report on progress.

Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.

Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.

Monitor compliance with building and safety codes or regulations.

Must be willing to travel to remote locations for extended periods of time.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervisory responsibilities associated with this position may include supervision of professional, technical, clerical, and/or labor staff in support of the project.
Education and/or Experience:

10 years’ experience in Construction Management.

Experience overseeing multiple, diverse projects.

Thorough knowledge of construction materials and practices.

5 years’ experience in remote construction and logistics required.

Must be a seasoned professional with a desire to produce a quality project while strengthening Stake Holder relationships

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Execute the projects according to the project plans and specifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ensure that project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.

Skills such as CPM scheduling, time management, quality control, cost control, preparation and review of submittals, purchase orders, change orders and subcontracts.

Computer literacy is critical including the understanding of Excel, Project and Word with the ability to learn new programs.

Must be able to read and interpret engineering, architectural, other construction drawings and specifications.

Implementation of corporate safety programs and applicable safety regulations.

Interpret building codes and standards.

Implement and complete quality and inspection procedures.

Excellent math skills are required with the ability to perform quantity and material takeoffs from construction documents.

Ability to complete project financial projections and interpret project costs is essential.

Ability to be flexible and work effectively in a fast passed environment.

Demonstrate ethical conduct, professional presentation and cultural awareness.

Physical Demands:
Frequently required to read text on a computer screen and hard copy, stand, sit, talk and hear.Enter information into computers via keyboard. Exposure to moderate levels of noise in well-lit, well ventilated and fast passed environment. Perform repetitive motions of hands and wrists and read computer screen.May be required to push, pull and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work environment is a typical office setting. May also be on a construction site as required by OCS.Will require travel to rural areas. Where driving may be required or where a rental car must be obtained for business travel, applicants must have a valid drives license for this position.
