We are looking for a team member to serve in the role as our Clinical Services Coordinator. A successful Clinical Services Consultant will display passion for the impact of primary and preventive care on the improved health and wellness for all Alaskans. At the core of this position is the ability to form and grow relationships with community health center medical providers in order to understand their needs and develop solutions around those needs.

Position SummaryThis position is responsible to provide clinical program development, technical assistance, and training and support services to clinicians, clinic administrators, staff, and board members working for member Community Health Centers (CHCs) and other safety net providers.
Areas of focus include (but are not limited to): clinical quality, operations, and practice management with the goals of improving clinical services to reduce health disparities and prepare clinics and staff for value-based care and value-based pay. This position is a liaison between the Alaska Primary Care Association and stakeholders, CHC members, health center clinicians, and other safety net providers.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther duties will be assigned as necessary.
Training & Technical Assistance
Provide training, technical assistance, and guidance to Alaska Community Health Centers (CHCs) regarding their Quality Improvement programs, clinical programs, and risk management as dictated by the funder requirements and health center needs
Using accessible and regularly scheduled methods, gather and disseminate relevant clinical information to APCA, CHCs, partners, and stakeholders
Contribute clinical guidance and advice regarding the implementation and development of immunization-specific improvement projects
Provide training and technical assistance to CHCs regarding clinical aspects of value-based care and value-based pay, and clinical program and performance measures development
Participate as the clinical member of the Operational Assessment team
Program Development
Assist with evaluating, developing, and implementing training to meet CHC staff needs
Contribute knowledge and expertise regarding risk management and clinical best practices to APCA programs, projects, and legislative policies as directed
Maintain awareness of current national, state, and local resources and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to APCA and members, partners, and stakeholders
Provide clinical program development assistance and support services to members, partners, and stakeholders
Partnerships & Relationships
Maintain ongoing and effective collaboration and communication relationships with members, partners, and stakeholders
Represent APCA on various committees, coalitions, and task forces as directed and report out
Facilitate and maintain a synchronous APCA clinician peer network
Act as an APCA staff liaison to health center clinicians, members, partners, and stakeholders
Serve as a resource for clinician recruitment and as a contact for clinicians interested in prospective Alaskan practice opportunities
Qualifications / KnowledgeRequired
NP, PA, or equivalent current medical license in the state of Alaska
Experience leading quality improvement efforts in a clinical setting
Knowledge of community health programs (such as the HRSA/BPHC Community Health Center Program, FTCA, and 340B) and public health principles
Excellent research, planning, organizational, and follow-through skills with high attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient capability with Microsoft Office Suite on a Windows platform
Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new software easily
Ability to work effectively with a variety of professionals and organizations across social and cultural differences in diverse populations
Ability to work independently in a collaborative work environment
Ability to execute discretion, independent judgment, and maintain neutrality and confidentiality
Must possess valid Alaska driver’s license
Must have consistent access to insured, reliable private transportation
Preferred
Experience working in a CHC
Experience working in a CHC in a rural location
Experience working in a clinical role in rural Alaska
Language Skills RequiredFluency in written and spoken English required
Travel RequiredIn-city travel by personal vehicle to community sites, meetings, and outreach locations; mileage is reimbursed per APCA policy
In-state and out of state travel required; M&IE provided per APCA policy
