Medical Office- Front Desk Position-Full Time

Description:
This established medical practice has been treating the community since 2006. We have thirteen practitioners offering both medication management and therapy. This specialty practice prides itself on delivering the best possible patient care. We have a staff of responsible employees who work together in a cohesive manner to ensure quality care is provided to all patients who walk through the doors.
Scope Of The Job:
We are looking for an individual who will present a positive first and last impression to our visiting patients, efficiently coordinate patient appointments, manage the office communications and assist the doctors when needed. We believe in excellent customer service skills as an important part to our sustained growth and respect throughout the community. As the front desk staff member, you are a key participant to their satisfaction. The office is busy, so being able to multitask and work as part of a team is a plus.
Compensation: DOE (this position does not offer medical benefits, but a stipend is given to help with those costs)
Office Hours:
Monday – Thursday 9-5
Friday 9-4
Although, patients are seen outside office hours (typically 8-6pm. Mon-Thurs), the office hours are purely just for phone and patient-walk in hours.
Hours for position will fall between 8 am to 6 pm. This will be discussed at the interview and we ask that our employees be flexible on hours as we continue to grow.
Job Duties:
Maintain patient privacy at all times.
Process incoming calls in a professional manner.
Schedule patient appointments and ensure reminder calls are made.
Correctly document all required front office patient information in the electronic medical record system available.
Manage patient financial elements. This includes: Verify insurance benefit coverage, collect co-pays and/or payments at time of service, and effectively answer or route patient inquiries regarding payments.
Scan and disperse any reports received to the appropriate doctor.
Maintain a professional and well stocked business office at all times.
Assist patients with completing paperwork and documents when required.
Assist medical office staff when needed.
Adhere to all regulatory requirements such as HIPPA etc.
Work cohesively with your fellow employees to maintain a professional and enjoyable work environment.
Skills & Experience:
Familiarity with computers (Microsoft Word, email) a must, and experience in using an electronic health records system a plus.
1 – 2 years experience in medical office preferred
Working knowledge of basic office equipment; fax, copy machine, scanner, front desk phone base system.
Able to multi-task effectively, flexibility in handling patient and staff requests in a busy environment, attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Able to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
