Job Description :
Independence Park Medical Services is a rapidly growing multi-specialty clinic located in South Anchorage. We are currently looking for a reliable, outgoing Front Office – Patient Service Representative to work as part of our team whose goal is to make efficient use of clinic time by maintaining smooth patient flow. This individual must be an effective communicator, enjoy working with patients, personable, flexible and adaptable when working in a team environment. Must have a strong ability to prioritize and handle many tasks/projects simultaneously. Must have prior knowledge working in a front office setting. The individual will work directly with other clinical staff, administrative staff, patients, vendors and must be able to work independently.

Qualified individuals should be proficient in the following in order to perform daily job responsibilities:
Check patients in and out
Schedule new and follow-up appointments
Verify medical insurance benefits
Determine patient financial obligation – co-pays, deductible, coinsurance
Collect accurate payment from current and previous balance from patients
Answer multi phone line system in a courteous and professional manner
Provide patients with basic clinic information regarding costs, services, provider information, etc.
Ensure lobby is cleaned and maintained
Data entry into EMR- demographic and insurance information, as well as scanning patient records into the EMR
Maintain multi function e-fax
Medical Records
Coordinate patient care
The ideal applicant must have previous exceptional computer and customer service skills. Attention to detail is required. Must be able to perform basic math calculations accurately. Prior experience with medical insurance and able to explain benefits to patients is a plus. It is important to our team that we provide the best customer service to our patients while maintaining a peaceful work environment.

Qualified individuals will be required to pass a drug test and consent to a criminal background check.
