Responsibilities:
This Position is for Pactiv Evergreen Inc.

The goal of this position is to implement the necessary Environmental Health and Safety management systems to drive improved safety performance across the Pactiv Evergreen (PTVE) organization. This will include the development and implementation of an enhanced safety culture at all levels of the organization. This positon will support implementation of the Pactiv Evergreen Production System (PEPS) across the manufacturing footprint. This leader will be expected to drive strategic initiatives across all business units resulting in top quartile safety performance and implementation of a “Zero Harm” philosophy.

Reporting Relationship:
The EHS Director will report to the Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with VP of EHS, COO, Human Resource Director, and Corporate Business Unit Managers to cultivate a “Zero Harm” Safety Culture across PTVE.
Develop Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health strategies to support overall Business goals.
Develop effective Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health plans designed to meet operational goals to reduce injuries, accidents and incidents.
Provide Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health leadership and direction to Business Unit, Department and Project Managers.
Serve as the corporate Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health subject matter expert with clients, regulators, and PTVE employees.
Supervise the Occupational Health team to ensure a strategic approach around worker health and wellness.
Implement EHS management systems throughout the organization under the direction of the VP of EHS.
Develop and implement an Industrial Hygiene data management strategy utilizing the Corporate EHS data management tool focused on statistical analysis of data to determine compliance and drive worker protection initiatives.
Create and implement effective Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health metrics to track progress, identify areas of concern and drive accountability by all employees.
Manage and report on both leading and lagging indicators for the PTVE organization.
Assist with the preparation of reports to both the Executive leadership team and the PTVE Board of Directors (BOD).
Direct a team and manage Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health resources and related departmental budgets.
Direct corporate Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health staff.
Assess staffing needs and create an organizational structure that supports the corporate, business unit and facility levels.
Lead the corporate Process Safety Management Program and Emergency Response programs.
Ensure each direct report is provided with the framework to foster their career growth and work closely with each on their succession plans within the organization.
Serve as the primary contact on Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health issues.
Appraise and implement new Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health regulations as they relate to PTVE operations.
Develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans to be rolled out organizationally, ensuring that safety emergencies and injuries are properly reported and investigated.
Assist facilities management teams to ensure the promotion of a zero-incident culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree – preferred) in Safety, Industrial Engineering or related field.
Certified Industrial Hygienist or equivalent.
15+ years of Safety leadership at a plant and corporate level.
Proven ability to facilitate change.
Strong organizational skills to include: Tracking, coordination across multiple programs, effective reporting of status and results to both the VP of EHS and senior management.
Experience working across multiple locations at one time
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of management systems (ISO 14001 and 45001 experience preferred).
Effective communication skills (written and verbal), team building and demonstrated leadership skills with all levels in the organization.
Must have Microsoft Office experience.
Ability to travel 50% of the time.
