Location of Internship: Six Lakes, MI
Title of Position: Potato IPM Scout and Research Assistant
Description of Position(s):
Agri-Business Consultants, Inc. (ABC, Inc.) is offering summer jobs or paid internships for students and recent college graduates during the 2022 summer season. Internships through the fall season are also being offered. ABC, Inc. is undergoing an ownership generation transfer, thus following the successful completion of an internship, there are full-time career opportunities with ABC, Inc.
Responsibilities include:
Potato IPM Scouting
Collecting potato plant health, plant pathogen, insect, and weed pest data
Writing neat and informative scout reports for supervisors and clients
Collecting data from research plots
Qualifications for Position:
Strong interest in an agronomy career focused on implementing integrated pest management and precision agriculture programs
Physical ability to walk miles in potato fields each day
Course work or experience that included data collection and management
Background or major in Agriculture or a pest management discipline like Plant Pathology, Entomology, or Weed Science. Many other disciplines like Biology, Botany, Conservation, Geology, and Natural Resources Management are also appropriate.

Compensation: Paid weekly, hourly rate based on experience and education. Business miles are reimbursed at the IRS rate of $0.585 per mile.
