The Field Service team, based in Denver, CO, is responsible for the installing, commissioning, and repairing of our robotic automation and packaging systems. The role is at the forefront of our innovation team which includes handling technical upgrades, streamlining automation systems, working with customers and programming of systems to be commissioned in the field. The Field Service Technician/Engineer role includes solving complex automation tasks via programming, remotely and on-site. Customer Support duties include working with complex challenges and fielding support phone calls while in the office.
Travel is required for this role, typically ranging about 50% of work.
A willingness to learn and develop new ideas, problem solve, and think quickly is key to success in this role.
Field Service Technician/Engineer Role
Roles and Responsibilities
Mechanical Aptitude and working with tools
Ability to troubleshoot new and existing PLC control systems with training based on company guidelines at the company’s facility in Denver and in the field. Includes knowledge or Rockwell Automation’s – RS500/5000
Work in the field and at the Denver facility testing and programming to upgrade current PLC programming, working on robots including Kawasaki, Yaskawa, and Fanuc controls and working with customers and engaging them on commissioning systems.
Provide customer training on efficiency and operating NOVA systems.
Upgrade new and existing HMI applications including Allen Bradley, Proface touch screen’s on company guidelines and/or customer needs.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Electrical Knowledge, Controls, Systems Engineering, Mechanical and/or Electrical role or Robotics experience.
Able to learn/modify/build Ladder Logic programs from the Compact Logix, RSLogix, and/or Siemens controls.
Customer focused and have the ability to work in challenging environments to troubleshoot field issues.
Testing systems in Denver facility and work to prepare systems for shipping to customer sites.
Mechanical/Electrical field work and troubleshooting
Manage time and cost based on project schedule and budget
Qualifications
Mechanical/Electrical Aptitude
Robotic programming and troubleshooting of Kawasaki, Yaskawa, and Fanuc Robots a plus.
Alley Bradley PLC: ControlLogixCompactLogix, PlantPAx, PLC 5, MicroLogix, SLC 500, RS Logix, Studio 5000, Studio Designer, FactoryTalk SE/ME
Kawasaki/Kuka/Fanuc – Robot Programming experience a plus.
Siemens PLC: TIA Portal v12, TIA Portal v13, TIA Portal v14, Step 7, S7-1500, S7-1200, S7-300, S7-400, WinCC Flex
HMI Programing and Operations: Proface, Allen Bradley: FactoryTalk View Studio, RS View, PanelBuilder, Siemens: ProTool
Variable Frequency Drives – Allen Bradley Powerflex, Eaton, SEW Eurodrive.
Servos – Allen Bradley: Kenetics 6000, SERCOS Servo Drive Interface, Yaskawa: SGDV, SGDH
Up to 50% Travel – Must be able to acquire passport, if asked.
