Job Description :
1. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Our Case Management Department is combined utilization management, discharge planning, and CDI. RNCMs are primarily responsible for utilization, which include denial management, but they also partner with SWCMs on discharge planning. We have RNCM CDI specialists within our team; this position is not specific to CDI, but experience would be helpful.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
Meditech 6.15, Care Manager and PCS, MCG Indicia
3. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
M-F, business hours; will not work alone.
4. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
No
5. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
55 bed hospital; Med/Surg, CCU, OB, acute psych. Inpatient UR/CM; shared caseload with other RNCMs
6. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
Patient ratio varies from 1:10 to 1:20, depending on staffing and census.
7. Dress Code:
Business casual

RNCMs will orient staff to our department on an individualized basis. Specific processes are available for reference.
