Job Description :
BE THE ANCHOR OF HOPE AND CHANGE AT HOLY CROSS SERVICESThe Housing Generalist will oversee shelter activities to facilitate and motivate clients toward permanent housing and positive change. Supervise clients to ensure safety and assist them with reaching positive program outcomes and supportive services. Practice the Agency’s treatment model, ethics, standards of conduct and procedures. Commit to continuing professional growth by reading various forms of Agency or professional literature, attending scheduled Agency orientation, training classes, workshops, and cross training by observing groups and staff.Responsibilities:
Carry out the Agency’s treatment philosophy with clients and others.
Medication monitoring, following medication monitoring policy.
Use sound judgment, training, and tools to de-escalate challenging and/or emotionally charged situations.
Completing and documenting accurate client intakes.
Effective communication on agency procedures and expectations, including housing expectations to clients.
Positive and professional interactions with clients, staff, volunteers, donors, and agency partners.
Providing referrals to other community services, appropriate for client support and care.
Completing data entry into the Homeless Management Information System.
Maintain community relations with key community partnerships including but not limited to law enforcement and community mental health.
Facilitate and document all safety drills/tests and actual incidents.
Perform other duties related to the essential duties of the position and within the individual’s capabilities as assigned by one’s supervisor.
Qualifications:
HS Diploma/GED
Valid Driver’s License
Lived experience with homelessness strongly preferred
