Job Description
SK Siltron CSS has a unique opportunity at the Bay City Site in Bay City, MI for an experienced Construction Coordinator to gain broad experience within a small site environment. The Construction Coordinator oversees the operations of construction, from planning to completion.
Responsibilities:
Thoroughly review and understand contract documents’ scope of work for each trade prior to project execution. Identify potential issues and areas that lack detail or information and prepare and communicate desired solutions.
Direct, communicate, and monitor the activities of the subcontractors, suppliers, and all onsite labor.
Promote a safe, clean, and cooperative work environment
Manage all site logistics regarding material and equipment storage, receiving deliveries, and locations for dumpster. Ensure all required permits have been obtained and are properly displayed where required.
Review and understand approved submittals/shop drawings.
Create, maintain, and develop construction schedules. Communicate the schedule and all adjustments to all subs. Provide alternate methods on how to maintain schedule and overcome delays and keep PM informed of any changes.
Enforce safety and quality control standards and subcontractor adherence to construction documents. Create, distribute, and ensure completion of internal periodic punch lists. Ensure scheduling and cooperation with all municipal inspection agencies, attend all walkthroughs, and document any required corrections.
Coordinate with the Project Manager to secure material purchases with vendors. Schedule, expedite material, and track equipment deliveries.
Assist in securing CO pricing from the Subcontractors/Vendors and obtain signed COs from the PM to help ensure accurate project costing.
Attend, create, and manage construction meetings to all relevant parties for all projects.
Organize and maintain drawings, specifications, RFI’s, and addendums into a field set that is being communicated and used for construction. Verify that all work is being built to what has been specified and contracted.
Qualifications & Education:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or 15 years of successful experience in lieu of degree
Four (4) or more years related work experience in commercial construction execution in manufacturing environments
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.

Demonstrated an ability to collaborate with team members, strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage time, manage multiple projects, resources, in a professional manner, ability to communicate clearly, reading and writing skills, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Demonstrate proficiency with construction technologies, tools, hardware and software skills to job-specific tasks,
Comply with federal, state, and local safety legal requirements, maintain safe working practices around work hazards, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
