We are looking for a Master Distiller and this will be a key position in the company, making some unique bourbons and other spirits to cater to local and heavily to the global markets as our global reach is huge. We will become the largest global player in the near future of American Spirits supported by many agencies.
Job Responsibilities :
Direct the design of systems and processes to improve the Distillery and Warehouse Operations. Lead effective planning and scheduling of distillation requirements.
Direct complete distilling operations and ensure quality, innovation, and continuity of our distilling and aging processes.
Plan and manage various batches that are identified to be distilled.
Maintain quality, capacity, and yield requirements for Shankar Distillery.
Experience in doing research on aging our whiskies in different casks for a multitude of finishes and flavor profiles.
Ensure the systems deliver functionality and promote quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Get engaged and work with marketing efforts to establish the distillery as a highly recognized and respected producer of award-winning spirits.
Lead experimental and potential new whiskey development efforts
Be available for all sales and marketing events at the distillery to promote our products
Work with operations in selecting raw material procurement for distilling
Ensures adherence to all Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental Practices.
Lead the effort to assess & optimize organizational talent/structure by redeploying, hiring, training, and developing in Distillery and Barrel Warehouse Operations.
Work with the Owner to build products based on his vision
Work with operations in ensuring all aspects of the process are identified for HIGH-quality product development
Lead safety awareness in the Distillery and the whole barreling process to implement safety procedures and initiatives.
Produce quality products while maximizing productivity, reducing costs, and leading new initiatives
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or related field
Minimum 10 years of related operational/technical Alcohol Beverage Industry experience
Good communication skills
Fire in the belly to create some really innovative products
Ability to be able to do things at the distillery which require physical work such as working on your feet, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, and squatting
Experience in doing various flavors and samples
Experience working in a startup mindset
Experience in managing people
