Job Description :
Oscar W. Larson, a 76 year old growing business, has an immediate opening for a full time
Licensing and Insurance Specialist based out of the Clarkston MI location. We are looking for an individual to become a part of our growing team.

Our ideal candidate will be someone who is looking for a
long-term opportunity, and the desire to join a growing organization and enjoys independence while at work . This is a full-time position.

The successful candidate will be a reliable self-starter who is able to work autonomously. Must have excellent attention to detail and strong customer service.

Overview:

The Licensing and Insurance Specialist is responsible for researching and overseeing license/permit/inspection requirements for company projects throughout the U.S. They will manage certificates of insurance, subcontractor agreements and other company-required documents to assure compliance.

Licensing functions:
Timely researching and preparing applications of licenses/permits/inspections for various jurisdictions serving authorities, internal departments and customers.
Update project management software with appropriate data and generate reports to manage approval process.
Coordinate with construction and project teams to ensure proper close-out of projects and follow-up on final inspections, punch lists and applicable refunds.
Communicates with municipalities about outstanding permits that need to be resolved, including licensing, and permitting issues.
Able to effectively communicate to construction and project teams

Insurance functions:
Gathers vendor insurance information and organizes documents electronically for executive review
Assures that certificates of insurance and subcontractor agreements are active and up-to-date
Collect and verify subcontractor packages including W9, subcontractor insurance, EMR, OSHA logs, and business trade licenses.
Maintain vendor list and set up user accounts for vendors and staff
Set up process/system to track insurance renewals and flag for non-compliance
Track annual spend and monitor rates in an effort to negotiate better rates or identify where new vendors are needed

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent(AINS) or other career-specific certification completed or underway

Licensing and permitting experience a plus
Insurance related duties a plus (able to read an ACORD 25)
Experience with a third-party prequalification hosts a plus (ISN, Avetta)

Professional communications
Strong attention to detail
Strong follow-up skills

Strong computer skills, and experience using MS Office

Effectively manages workflow processes
