Job Description
The SK Siltron CSS has a unique opportunity for a Cost Accountant located in the Bay City, Mi area. The Cost Accountant role will be part of the finance team supporting the SiC wafer businesses aligned to the SK group.
Key responsibilities include:
Primary responsibilities include budgeting, product costing, recording, reporting, analyzing, and communicating functional/business activity and financial results.
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Makes estimates of new and proposed product costs and provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
Maintains the cost accounting master data such as cost centers, business processes and statistical key figures.
Creates and modifies basic allocation models and tools such as assessment and distribution cycles, templates, and models of product costs.
Carries out periodic planning, costs materials and creates cost estimates.
Perform daily activities such as cost and revenue positions or changes in material prices.
Performs and monitors period-end closing in CO and related areas.
Uses the information system to analyze the results of the cost management activities.
Ensures activity is accurate and complete and in compliance with accounting standards.
Complete product costing of materials, review for variances and correct/communicate results to business/plant management.
Provide financial analysis to function/business management teams as needed for project studies, options analysis, productivity/benchmarking measurements.
Develop the cost structure of new business model.
Facilitate the budget setting process and monthly/quarterly estimate process.
Critical Success Factors / Competencies:
Integral to this role is establishing and maintaining an ongoing working relationship with other sub-processes and functions.
Demonstrated technical accounting ability through greater than two years of directly applicable experience.
Demonstrated initiative competency, as well as the ability to identify root causes of issues and discover/implement practical solutions.
Open to and proposes new ideas to improve existing work processes.
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with SAP CO module and the related module (such as MM/PP/SD module)
Strong understanding and knowledge of accounting/finance principles, such as GAAP, FASB, company accounting policy manual.
Analytical skills are necessary to independently gather, assess and analyze business issues to actively participate in company/business decisions.
Technology (computer) skills are essential to success such as SAP ERP knowledge, Microsoft Excel including Pivots Tables and reporting tools.
Effective interpersonal skills necessary to communicate analysis, results, and business issues with management.
A minimum requirement for this U. S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U. S. permanent residency (green card) process.
