Job Description :
Position Summary
This Administrative Assistant position will be supporting the tax department, a fast-growing, public accounting firm.
Work in a fast-paced department that is looking for an individual who takes pride in quality work. You can be an integral part of our tax department by demonstrating your ability to field numerous requests under deadline and still uphold high standards when producing your work. In addition, this person will be reponsible for preparing simple tax returns.Tasks
Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems, and use computers for excel spreadsheets, word processing, database management, and other applications.
Make copies of correspondence and other printed material.
Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.
Set up and maintain paper and electronic filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material.
Handle production work specific to the public accounting industry.
Gathering/organizing and accurately entering customer data into the tax returns for review.
Appropriately communicates difficult situations encountered on engagements to supervisor.
Performs thorough self-review of all work prior to submission to supervisor
Proactively demonstrates a willingness to learn and attain greater knowledge on a continual basis; looks to build technical skill base
Grasps concepts quickly and demonstrates knowledge of basic technical skills, as well as related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures
Makes well-thought-out decisions and considers all facts prior to making final conclusions
Asks appropriate questions and requests supervision when in need of assistance
Responds timely and accurately to internal team and client requests

Experience and Education
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate; 2+ years
Experience
2+ years in relevant administrative position
Tax experience preferred but not required. We will train.
Software: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook are preferred
Preferably 3-5 years previous work experience as an administrative assistant in a corporate setting.
Previous experience in an accounting (tax department highly preferred) or financial firm desirable but not required.
Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects under deadline.
Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
Comfortable working with all levels of staff & management
