Summary
Responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the Company’s needs for materials, services, supplies. The position is further responsible for the timely planning, scheduling of receipt and inventory control of the products and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and maintain purchasing, shipping, receiving and inventory control procedures, including but not limited to inventory transactions such as location transfers and material counts.
Reviews requisitions, questions, approves, rejects and issues purchase orders as required.
Prepares and enters all purchase orders, working with accounting and operations to ensure proper account/category assignment.
Review inventory receivables on a daily basis and reviews inventory of all levels of product lines on a weekly basis.
Confirms purchase order with supplier and communicates the receipt of new materials for new or revised product lines.
Reviews open purchase orders, including past due orders and back ordered quantities, and contacts suppliers to find out status of orders. Clears/closed back orders or cancelled items or orders, as needed.
Contacts suppliers with discrepancies with quantity and quality.
Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management, negotiates prices and delivery terms.
Develops and maintains reporting of cost-savings, increases, cost-avoidance and other standard materials related metrics for management review.
Responsible for the management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules.
Review Sales Orders against current requirements and work in process to determine material replenishment requirements.
Interface with manufacturing personnel, sales and management on material status and production planning issues.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining inventory movement/transaction procedures, including cycle counts and location transfers. Works to ensure that counts and transfers are accurate and entered into system in a timely manner. Processes transfer in system; request database administration team enter counts. Analyzes material transactional data to resolve discrepancies. Assists and directs warehouse associated with counts and transfers, as needed.
Organizes, facilitates and participates in year-end inventory.
Assisting other departments as required.

Education and/or Experience
Two (2) years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment.
Computer & Technology Skills
Job requires strong knowledge of Outlook, Explorer, Excel, Word software applications.
Personal computer skills, mainframe operations as relates to procurement, related software, and knowledge of purchasing/accounting processes required.
Language & Communication Skills
Ability to:
Write reports and business correspondence.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors and customers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to:
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to:
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must possess solid analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs and capabilities.
