A typical day in the life as a FRP Worker :
Providing case management and supportive services to families
Assessing family’s strengths, needs and current level of functioning
Identifying and referring helpful community resources to families
Maintaining consistent and regular contact with referring worker
Transporting
Completing necessary documentation and follow ups
Participating in sessions, reviews and meetings

Ability to empower families to solve their own problems
Ability to communicate
Ability to work in partnership with other team members and/or service providers.
Ability to work with a diverse population
Ability to multi-task, organize and meet contractual deadlines
Ability to forge a mutually respectful partnership with individuals and families in which they are helped to gain skills and confidence to address issues and problems.
Knowledge of the Family Reunification Program philosophy and intervention strategies
Knowledge and skills in the area of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders
This position provides intensive family preservation case management services with families working as a part of a team coordinating case management services with the program team leader and the referring worker and other service providers. Services take place in the family. (Muskegon, Allegan and Ottawa Counties)
Employment Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Human Services or a related field required.
Experience:
A minimum of one to three years of experience in Child Welfare or in-home service work with families. Previous experience working with multi-problem children and families preferred..

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
