Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily. 30 hours/week.
Summary: The Receptionist will be responsible for providing Thornapple’s “first face” through the various ways people make contact with our church and routing them to the appropriate party. The position also manages our front desk, coordinates some of our facility operations, and performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Position: Part-time, non-exempt
Responsibilities & Duties
Receiving visitors at the front desk: greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately.
Answering, screening and forwarding incoming phone calls.
Receiving and sorting daily mail/deliveries as well as sending/stocking for mailings.
Maintaining security by controlling access to the building and monitoring cameras.
Maintaining shared office equipment services and stock.
Maintaining the kitchens and stock/supplies.
Managing the use of the facility (requests/reservations, setups, calendar).
Managing the general email account and Zoom accounts
Coordinate the coffee operation: vendor, volunteers, kiosk, stock
Attending weekly staff meeting.
Performing special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Qualities
A disciple of Jesus Christ who embraces Thornapple’s “From Broken to Beautiful” vision and “helping people find and follow Jesus Christ” mission that exhibits compatibility with the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Gifts of hospitality, organization, and helping.
Associate’s degree preferred, but high school diploma (or equivalent) accepted with some college or equivalent experience
2+ years experience as a Receptionist or Administrative Assistant preferred
Exceptional customer service skills and professional office/phone/email manners
Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
Proficiency in Google Workspace, Asana, Microsoft Office and church management software or equivalent systems.
Hands-on experience with office equipment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 – $18.00 per hour
