Job Description :
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 
Master’s degree in education with major emphasis on administration, curriculum, supervision and related subjects. 
Michigan Department of Education Teacher Certification. 
Administrator Certificate or the ability to obtain a permit, required. 
Demonstrated leadership of district initiatives at both the school and district level. 
Evidence of knowledge related to teaching and support. 
Evidence of knowledge related to curriculum, instruction and assessment. 
Evidence of working in a multicultural environment. 
Willingness to dedicate time and energy to development of personal leadership skill. 
Letter of recommendation for the position from current supervisor/principal. 
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  Substantial experience in a variety of leadership roles 
A minimum of three years of administrative experience or substantial experience at the high school level in a variety of leadership roles. 
Michigan Department of Education Principal Certification. 
Minimum of five years teaching experience.

Ability to establish an educational program of high quality 
Knowledge of, and demonstrated experience and leadership with professional learning communities, alternative instructional assessment strategies, 21st Century instructional technology practices and initiatives, learning theory and change theory 
Strong organizational skills 
Demonstrated effective management, supervisory, executive, and curricular skills; and the ability to relate well with parents and community 
Ability to intentionally impact and grow positive school culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES  Provide leadership for the planning and management of the total instructional program of the school 
Prioritizing and ensuring student achievement growth and outcomes through instructional coherence and alignment 
Supervise and evaluate personnel assigned to the school 

Maintain positive relations with parents, parent groups, school volunteers, business partners, and other related agencies 
Keep current on legal, financial, and educational reform initiatives. 
Embrace diversity, equity and inclusion and understand how to engage all stakeholders in the school community. 
Supports the implementation of change initiatives. 
Provide leadership in the implementation of the District Improvement and Strategic Plans
