Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
Full-time position (52 weeks)
Reports to: Superintendent (or designee)
Niles Community Schools is looking for dynamic Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. Highly-effective communication skills and professionalism required for daily interaction with a diverse workforce, student population, building administration and community. The Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment will guide in creating and implementing a comprehensive K-12 curriculum, instructional and assessment system that is aligned with the state and national standards. Responsible for the successful design, development, and implementation of curriculum, working with teachers, parents, community members and other staff to analyze, assess, and improve our educational system.
Required Qualifications:
Valid Michigan school administrator certification
Master’s degree or higher, preferably in Curriculum, Development and Design
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid teaching certificate, preferably a Michigan certification
At least 5 years of successful teaching experience
Performance Responsibilities (non-prioritized):
Directs district-wide K-12 curriculum, instruction, assessment and staff development programs
Leads the district and school improvement process
Manages budget for assigned areas of responsibility
